GCSEs are academic qualifications that are available in a range of subjects and that can often act as entry requirements for a number of further study routes. GCSE courses are usually studies over a two year period, with exams and assessments being completed at the end of the two year period. Students usually take a range of core GCSE subjects, which include English, Mathematics, Science, and then have the choice of a number of additional subjects depending on their interests and goals. Although GCSEs are usually taken in school Years 10-11, but they can be taken at age.
